If you could do anything differently, what would you have done differently?

I would have definitely sorted some publications out a bit earlier and I would have gone to a few more conferences and that kind of thing. What I didn't do –  because I was living in London while studying somewhere else – was I didn't really integrate within the postgraduate community at the university I was at. That's not necessarily something I'd do differently but it's something I kind of regret a bit. I didn't for good reasons and I don't think it hampered my work particularly – perhaps even made me work better – but I think I missed out on a little bit of, that kind of social side, whereas other people would go through the same thing as you and they're not going to get bored to tears when you talk about academicy stuff so I possibly would have done that differently. Other than that it was just a case of crossing bridges as you came to them really. There are probably things I could have done slightly differently but I don't know it that would've helped at all, so there's nothing else I would have definitely done any differently, I don't think.
